Les Beaucamps High School Governance Board

Governance boards ensure that organisations are well led, well run and are accountable so that taxpayers’ money is used efficiently and has the best impact. They do this by providing appropriate strategic direction for Headteachers/Principals, in alignment with the political vision for education set out by elected politicians, and by monitoring the performance of the organisation so that budgets and staffing resources are used effectively, that strategic or operational risks are managed well and that the culture and practice of the organisation reflects the ambitions of the governance board. All States-maintained schools and settings in Guernsey and Alderney have an Education Governance Board.

The Les Beaucamps High School Education Governance Board meets three times per year and is made up of elected [parent, staff, student] governors and appointed associate governors. They work in partnership with Headteacher/Principal and other leaders within their organisation. Regular training is provided for governors so that they can offer robust support and challenge to Les Beaucamps High School.
